Antioch Set For 120-Home Subdivision From Nation's Largest Builder

D.R. Horton paid $1.2 million for 32.5 acres on Old Hickory Boulevard.

ANTIOCH, TN — After returning to the Nashville-area market four years ago, the nation's largest homebuilder has finally set its sights on a subdivision inside Davidson County proper.

The Tennessean reports that Fort Worth, Texas's D.R. Horton Inc. paid $1.2 million for 32.5 acres of vacant rural land at 12444 Old Hickory Boulevard in Antioch with plans for a 120-home subdivision.

Horton, and other large home construction concerns, typically focuses on much larger projects, but the paucity of sites in Nashville and the need for new development to keep up with the area's growth is forcing it into smaller scale projects.
