Distinctive Guitars Stolen From Popular Nashville Band JEFF The Brotherhood

Lucite axes stolen from the band's van in Wedgewood-Houston.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two distinctive guitars were stolen from the van of popular Nashville psychedelic-garage duo JEFF the Brotherhood.

The two-piece — brothers Jake and Jamin Orrill — is back in Nashville between tour dates and Saturday night, someone broke in their van stealing Jake's two custom-made guitars.

Jake's original guitar — a white three-string — was stolen in 2011. This pair was meant to replace that axe.

"They're arguably two of the most distinctive axes you'll see. Besides being made of clear plastic, they've got reverse headstocks (marked on the back with serial numbers 50 and 51) and a pair of large triangular cutouts in the wide bit at the bottom which guitar nerds refer to as the 'lower bout,' says Stephen Trageser of the Nashville Scene.
