Driver Accused Of Critically Injuring Pedestrian In Hit And Run

A witness provided a good description of a car involved in a hit and run and an MNPD sergeant spotted it, according to investigators.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police found a 3-year-old man lying on Lafayette Street near Charles Davis Boulevard early Tuesday morning after he'd been hit by a car. The man was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A witness who saw the hit and run gave police a description of the car and an MNPD sergeant on his way to the scene spotted the car, which had front-end damage, and stopped the driver on Murfreesboro Pike, according to police.

The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested.
