Early Voting, Election Day Set For Antioch-Area Council District 33 Special Election

Six candidates are vying to fill the Metro Council vacancy left by Sam Coleman's elevation to the bench. See the key dates.

NASHVILLE, TN — Key dates for the special election to fill the District 33 vacancy on the Metro Council are set.

Early voting for the Antioch-area district begins Wednesday, July 26, and ends Thursday, August 10, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday voting will be 8 a.m. to noon July 29 and August 5. Election Day is set for Tuesday, August 15.

Six candidates are vying to fill the seat left vacant when Sam Coleman was chosen by his council colleagues to fill the General Sessions judge position formerly held by under-federal-indictment Casey Moreland. The candidates are Amber Blackwell, Jack Byrd III, Martez Coleman, Tim Herndon, Antoinette Lee and Michael E. Mayhew. Martez Coleman is not related to Sam Coleman.
