Hermitage Precinct detectives are hoping the community can help identify the man who robbed the Mapco store at 710 Stewarts Ferry Pike on Wednesday afternoon by holding a knife to the neck of a female customer as he demanded cash.

The robber entered the store at 3:10 p.m. and stood around until he saw the customer approach the doors of the business. He went up to her, suddenly put a knife to her neck and demanded that the clerk surrender all the money in the cash register. The clerk complied and the robber ran to a waiting white Chevy Suburban. It was last seen heading west on Percy Priest Drive.
Mapco released this statement: “Our thoughts are with the team member and guest who were onsite during the robbery. We appreciate the quick response of the Metro Nashville Police Department and urge the community to watch the video they have released in order to help identify the perpetrator of this unacceptable act of violence. We are grateful the team member and guest present were not harmed.”
