Nashville Recording Artist Andrew Salgado Named Spokesperson of Music Over Miles

National Charity Impacts Student Lives Through Music Awareness, Education & Performance

Country artist and original singer songwriter Andrew Salgado (http://www.andrewsalgado.net) has been named the national spokesperson for Music Over Miles. Music Over Miles is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization that provides music students with complimentary music education, performances and interaction with a professional musician, as well as opportunities to meet and learn from other industry performers, media, or individuals working in the music industry.

“We are thrilled to have Andrew aboard as our inaugural national spokesperson,” said T. C. Leonard, executive director of Music Over Miles. “Andrew is an ideal spokesperson due to his background in working with volunteer organizations such as Autism Speaks and United Cerebral Palsy and his shared desire to support musical education in schools through professional performance and training. He has agreed to dedicate a significant portion of his touring schedule to Music Over Miles events this year which started with the successful inaugural event at the Walt Disney Magnet Elementary School in Chicago in March.”

Andrew states, “School music programs have been curtailed in today’s environment and youth think the only route to success is winning a television contest. There is a need to expose students to professional musicians and have them understand the realities and rewards of choosing music as a profession or hobby.” Music Over Miles is a supporter of the November 11th Musical Tribute to Veteran’s sponsored by Love Christian Clearinghouse which has Andrew opening for Darryl Worley this year.
