Radio Shack Closings: 3 Nashville Locations Shuttering

Is your local store on the chopping block?

Radio Shack's second bankruptcy will result in 552 locations — more than a third of its total stores – closing, including three in the Nashville area.

According to BusinessInsider.com, 190 stores are closing immediately and another 365, which are holding "everything must go" liquidation sales, will close by April. Yet another 1,000 stores nationwide will remain on an evaluation list to see if they remain viable. The report noted that the stores that were closing “reflected the lowest sales velocity and highest rent” within the company.

After posting hundreds of millions of dollars in losses, Radio Shack first filed bankruptcy two years ago and closed 1,800 stores.
