Single-Vehicle Crash On I-24 West Claims Passenger

The Indian Mound, Tennessee man killed Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in a single-vehicle crash on I-24 West near Spence Lane is identified as Steven Giese, 61.

Giese was the front seat passenger in a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by his son, Steven Giese II, 33, also of Indian Mound. The preliminary investigation shows that Giese II lost control of his SUV while negotiating a curve in the roadway and struck a rock wall on the front passenger side. Giese was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. Giese II was not injured.

There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.
