Smith Springs Community Center Construction Begins

The Priest Lake-area facility will be Nashville's eighth regional community center.

NASHVILLE, TN — Ground was formally broken for the Smith Springs Park and Regional Community Center Friday. Construction on the 15-acre park and 30,000 square-foot facility is expected to take 12 to 14 months.

Once completed, the LEED-certified community center will include a gymnasium, dance room, fitness center, meeting rooms, indoor track and three-lane swimming pool. The park will include a playground, walking trail, and parking lot.

Smith Springs Regional Community Center will be Metro's eighth regional community center, joining Hartman, Hadley, Coleman, East, McCabe, Sevier and Southeast in offering diverse recreation and wellness opportunities. Regional centers are open six days a week with a variety of programs for children, teens, adults and seniors.
