Teen Arrested For Shooting At Metro Police Officer
Metro Police arrested a teenager accused of stealing a car and shooting at an officer.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police arrested a 16-year-old Tuesday accused of stealing a car and firing a gun at an officer.
South Precinct Officer Madison Meiss was one of several MNPD officers searching for a Cadillac Escalade reported stolen late Monday night. The Escalade's OnStar system tracked the SUV to Hamilton Church Road and Hobson Pike, where it was spotted by an MNPD helicopter.
Meiss reportedly saw the car turning around in a Glenrose Avenue driveway and as it passed her, someone in the car fired at her patrol car. Neither Meiss nor her car were hit.

The alleged shooter's two accomplices - still in the Escalade - left the shooter behind, though they were quickly captured thereafter. The 16-year-old accused of pulling the trigger was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his girlfriend's home.

Detectives said they found a 9-millimeter pistol with an extended magazine and laser sight at the home. That gun had been reported stolen from a Sumner County vehicle break-in. Police say they also found humerus keys and key fobs.
The 16-year-old reportedly admitted to being in the stolen Cadillac and to firing at the officer. Detectives said they recovered four stolen vehicles at an apartment complex based on information provided by the teenager, who is charged with aggravated assault; he faces numerous other charges connected to the vehicle burglaries in both Metro and Sumner County.
