Train Cars Derail Near Nashville's Radnor Yard

Two railcars left the tracks and tipped over, with one leaking an unknown fluid, near Radnor Yard Saturday evening.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Two railcars left the track and tipped near Nashville's Radnor Yard Saturday evening.

Metro emergency crews responded to the yard, owned by rail giant CSX, around 5 p.m. Saturday, where two cars were off the tracks and tipped slightly. The derailment did not cause any road traffic problems and Metro Police quickly established a perimeter. One of the cars was leaking fluid of some kind, though officials did not say if it was hazardous or not.

The cars are owned by Marion Environmental, a Chattanooga-based company with a Nashville location that, in addition to environmental mitigation services, transports hazardous and non-hazardous material.
