BRENTWOOD, TN -- Independence Day is coming up fast and cities across the Midstate are gearing up for their annual fireworks displays and community gatherings.
Folks in Brentwood who don't want to trek into Nashville for the massive Music City celebration have a great option close to home, with a concert and a bigger-than-ever fireworks display.

When: July 4, 5 to 10 p.m.

Where: Crockett Park, 1500 Volunteer Parkway.
Food trucks will begin serving at 5 p.m.. Music from The Kadillacs - a mix of classic covers, big band and rhythm and blues - begins at 7 with fireworks beginning at dusk. For the first time in 18 years, the city commission increased the fireworks budget - up to $15,000 from $10,000 - setting it up to be largest in city history.
