Brentwood Teen Set For National Spelling Bee
Brentwood homeschool student Sydney Aslan, 14, will begin competition in Washington, D.C. Sunday.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The 90th Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee begins Sunday in Washington, D.C. and a Brentwood home-school student will represent Middle Tennessee.
Sydney Aslan, 14, won the regional bee sponsored by the Tennessee Titans in March and will join 290 other spellers from around the country to compete for national crown. The bee begins Sunday with the final rounds broadcast on the ESPN family of networks May 31 and June 1.
