Brentwood's Wild Iris Closes Abruptly

After 22 years, Brentwood's Wild Iris closed suddenly Saturday as the owners decided to focus solely on their other restaurant.

BRENTWOOD, TN -- After 22 years, Brentwood's popular Wild Iris restaurant closed suddenly Saturday.

The Franklin Road restaurant's owners, Gep and Katie Nelson, told The Tennessean they'll instead focus on their other restaurant, The Yellow Porch in Berry Hill.

"We didn't know which way the sail was going to go, so it kind of went down quickly," Katie Nelson told the newspaper. "We're fairly under the radar-type people as it is, so we kind of decided it was time."

The Nelsons said another restauranteur is taking over their lease and while they aren't certain of his plans, he has been moving in "some great pizza equipment."
