Patch compiled a few of their fitness resources for you and your family to take advantage of in the new year. The Brentwood YMCA is open from 4:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. and is located at 8207 Concord Rd.

Spirit and Mind Classes

  • Hot Yoga is a flexibility, coordination and balanced based class that's taught in a room heated to almost 90 degrees. Participants burn between 200 and 400 calories per class. It's taught Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • Balletone is a strength training and flexibility class designed to tone muscles and improve coordination. Participants burn between 400 and 600 calories per class. It's taught Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
  • Will Power and Grace is a strength training and coordination class that you do with bare feet. Participants burn between 200 and 400 calories per class. It's taught Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Strength Training

  • Sculpt is a class designed to hike up your heart rate while toning your muscles with exercises using free weights. Participants burn between 300 and 500 calories per class. It's taught on Saturdays from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • BodyPump is a cardio and strength training class designed to build core strength and burn fat. Participants burn between 300 and 500 calories per class. It's taught on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m
  • Ballet Sculpt is a strength training class that combines classical ballet techniques with cardio to tone muscles. Participants burn between 400 and 600 calories. It's taught Thursdays from 2 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

  • Senior Cardio Blast is a fitness class designed for adults over the age of 60, and it's a great way to get the heart rate up and relieve stress. Participants burn between 200 and 400 calories per day. It's taught on Tuesdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
  • SilverSneakers Yoga is designed to increase flexibility and improve mobility in older individuals through a variety of seated and standing yoga positions. Participants burn between 200 and 400 calories per class. It's taught Monday - Friday from 1 p.m. 1:45 p.m.
  • Circuit Blast Gold combines cardio and muscle toning exercises for a full body workout. Participants burn between 300 and 400 calories per class. It's taught on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
