Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Brentwood Police Cruiser

A 45-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into a Brentwood police car Wednesday.

BRENTWOOD, TN -- A 45-year-old motorcyclist died after a wreck involving a Brentwood Police patrol car Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say Anthony Peters was driving north on Franklin Road in the construction zone near Concord Road when his motorcycle crossed the double yellow line, hitting a police car driven by 11-year BPD veteran Seth Whitt.

Whitt was taken to the hospital as a precaution but was not injured.

The Brentwood Police Department issued a statement on the crash.

On behalf of the Brentwood Police Department, we would like to offer our condolences to the family of the motorcycle driver killed on Franklin Road today. Brentwood Police Officer Seth Whitt, an 11-year veteran of the department, was transported to the hospital following the crash to be examined, but had no injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be investigating and all further inquiries should be directed to its agency.
