Purse Stolen In Brentwood 'Bump And Rob'

A woman's purse was taken at gunpoint after she was hit from behind on Granny White Pike Monday.

BRENTWOOD, TN -- Two thieves stole a woman's purse during a "bump-and-rob" in Brentwood Monday night.

The woman said she was rear-ended near the intersection of Granny White Pike and Belle Rive Drive around 9:30 p.m. and that when she got out of the car to check out the damage to her bumper, two teenagers got out of the other car, pulled a gun and demanded her purse.

After taking her purse, they returned to the car and drove away.

The woman said the two were both black and between 5-feet-4-inches and 5-feet-6-inches tall with slim builds and were in a dark-colored sedan.

The attack and the description of the perpetrators are similar to what Metro Police now believe is a failed stick-up in Bellevue reported 15 minutes after the Brentwood attack.
