Teaching With Passion and Imagination While Living My Purpose

Teaching, passion, imagination and purpose

The picture I chose to share is from a Tea Party hosted by Shelby Hill. At the time, Shelby was running for Miss Roy Utah and should she earn that title, run for Miss Utah, Miss America and help influence our youth with good character. This is our character Self-Esteem Elephant which teaches and reinforces a child to be proud of who they are. When I teach painting classes or have group discussions with the children, I always share with them that Self-Esteem Elephant says this, "first put your thumb up, point to yourself and say,'I LIKE ME' those are the words that Self-Esteem Elephant wants you to say everyday! Below I painted with a group of Girl Scouts to share the message and bring the character to life on canvas, can you tell how proud they are!?

Teaching With Passion and Imagination is my PURPOSE. Read more here.

This month, March is my birthday. I am raising funds so that we can donate to Childrens Hospitals in Tennessee and in Texas. Your donation helps fill our Superhero Activity Box with our Superhero Activity Book, crayons, watercolors, a canvas that says, I AM SUPER, an easel to display the canvas, a paintbrush, superhero sticker, superhero felt mask, a laminated character lanyard and a hand written letter from one of the Characters of Character. These are mailed to the hospital and the staff gift it to the child patient. The hospitals have shared the need for these, the families and the children absolutely appreciate and love them. We can not donate with out your support, please consider a donation today to make a better tomorrow. Thank you. Below is the box, sturdy and colorful! This is the front.

This is the back of the box. As you can see, these characters are inviting and their messages are important and needed in our everyday lives. As I mentioned, we need SPONSORS and DONATIONSTO FULFILL THEM and donate to Children's Hospitals in Tennessee and in Texas which we are in contact with as they await anxiously for these to be sent out.

Characters of Character is also donating to the Sumner Library in Hendersonville our Confident Building Boxes to help teach our children confidence and to be proud of who they are, what they can do and to share their talents with others. Below is this box which is filled with our Confidence Building Activity Book, character affirmation cards, crayons, etc. to help reinforce self-esteem and help build their confidence. This is for your community, and again, we can not fulfill these with out your SPONSORSHIP or DONATIONS. Please consider this and also share our information to help bring more awareness to our organization. We provide a lot of FREE resources for communities, families and children to engage in, enrich them and to empower their character. VISIT US AT CHARACTER CORNER.

Our organization is moving to Tennessee this summer to open our activities to all surrounding communities, schools, organizations, families, after school clubs, etc. and engage them in the messages we teach. We have painting classes, group activities, mommy and me projects, group discussions, have published over 30 books, brought the characters to life in costume and can not tell you how excited we are to share them in the great state of Tennessee. Our vision is to hold a variety of free classes which would be sponsored by a business, to ask families to donate to the local food pantry for some of the classes, etc. We will become involved in as much community as we can. We would like to be located in the Nashville area with a space to provide all of the above and live within an hour of Nashville to travel to. I welcome ideas and suggestions! Characters of Character is registered as a 501(c)(3) non profit organization in Tennessee. As a matter of fact my husband and myself met with the Governor's Office last March to share our organization with. We are planning a visit within the next few weeks to discover more about Tennessee as we move forward with our move. We could use all the help we can get, perhaps you're a car dealership or know of one who would like to donate a vehicle for the characters to travel in? Perhaps you know of a space that would be a fit for the characters to teach in? Perhaps you would like to meet and we can share more with you? Believe me when I say we're in it for the long run, formed this organization in 2007 and volunteered and dedicated my life to making a difference in the life of a child.
