TSSAA Football Playoffs: Ravenwood Will Travel, Brentwood To Host, BA Gets a Bye

NASHVILLE, TN — Ravenwood will hit the road and Brentwood will host for the first-round of the football playoffs Friday, while Brentwood Academy gets the week off.

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association released the postseason brackets for high school football early Saturday morning and area teams learned their fates.

In Class 6A, 5-5 Ravenwood finished fifth in Region 3 and will head to Region 4 No. 4 seed Germantown Houston (4-5); the winner will face the winner of Mt. Juliet and Bartlett. The Raptors would host the second-round match-up with a win and a Bartlett win.

In Class 5A, 6-4 Brentwood, Region 7's runner-up, will host Kirby (5-5). The Bruins-Cougars winner will face the winner of Rossview and Memphis Central. Brentwood would host in the second round with a win and a Rossview win.

In Division II Class AA, Brentwood Academy finished second in the East/Middle Region. The Eagles received a bye and will host the winner of Father Ryan and McCallie

Elsewhere in Williamson County, Battle Ground Academy will host King's Academy. In Class 6A, Franklin (8-2) will host Germantown. In 5A, undefeated defending champions and Region 5 winner Independence will host Gallatin, while Region 7 winner Centennial (9-1) will host Bolton and Summit (7-3) travels to undefeated Cane Ridge. In 4A, Page (6-3) hosts Chattanooga Central with a match-up against either undefeated Stone Memorial or Spring Hill looming in the second round. In Class 3A, undefeated Fairview, the Region 6 champs, will host East Nashville.
