Williamson County Schools Director Extended

FRANKLIN, TN -- The Williamson County Board of Education extended Director of Schools Mike Looney's contract through 2022 Thursday night.

Looney, who has led Williamson County Schools since 2009, received near-perfect marks on his most evaluation, prompting the added year to his current deal.

In 2015, Looney was set to cross Old Hickory Boulevard to lead Metro Nashville Public Schools in a much-ballyhooed hire for MNPS, but instead signed a long-term deal with WCS, consistently the state's highest-rated public school system.
