13-Year-Old Nashville Student Arrested For School Threat

A DuPont Hadley Middle School student is charged with making a false report after allegedly emailing a threat to his school's principal.

OLD HICKORY, TN -- Metro Police arrested a 13-year-old DuPont Hadley Middle School student Wednesday night for allegedly threatening his school.

On Feb. 28, the school's principal received an anonymous email threatening to "shoot up the school" and alerted Metro Police. Investigators say they were able to trace the address to the 13-year-old's mother.

During an interview with police Wednesday night, the student reportedly admitted to sending the email, saying that he did it on a dare from online gaming friends.
