Alleged Madison Shooter ID'd Using Facebook

A meeting about a watch turned violent in Madison Monday night, police said, with the alleged shooter identified via Facebook.

MADISON, TN — A Madison watch sale turned violent Monday night, according to Metro Police, and Facebook helped to find the alleged shooter.

Investigators say Joshua Parsons and another person met outside a home on Yowell Avenue to meet about money owed for a watch. Parsons reportedly arrived in a black Nissan with a white Dodge sedan following behind.

The cars stopped in front of the home and Parsons allegedly leaned out of the Nissan, firing three to five shots before both the Nissan and Dodge sped away.

While the male victim - who was supposed to meet with Parsons - is being uncooperative and was even on the phone with Parsons when police arrived, according to an affidavit, a woman at the home identified Parsons using Facebook.

Parsons, a convicted felon, is charged with possession of a handgun by a felon and aggravated assault.
