East Nashville Hemp Store Set For 4/20 Grand Opening

Music City Hemp Company will begin selling (completely legal) hemp oil products April 20.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Nashville's first business dedicated to selling products made from hemp oil will open, appropriately enough, on April 20.

Music City Hemp Company on North 16th Street will sell products derived from industrial hemp oil and containing CBD, which is perfectly legal, even as supporters of medical marijuana - which contains THC, which is not present in industrial hemp - struggle to get a proposal through the state legislature.

"It's anti inflammatory, so anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, those are pretty easily fixed with CBD," owner David Duncan told NewsChannel 5.

In February, nearly two dozen stores in Rutherford County selling CBD products were padlocked on a judge's order, though the DA there was later forced to drop the charges because the TBI couldn't guarantee that the CBD in those products were derived from marijuana rather than industrial hemp, the latter being perfectly legal.
