Gaunt Pony Found Wandering In Goodlettsville
Metro Animal Care and Control is looking for the owner of an emaciated mare found on Brick Church Pike last week.

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN -- An emaciated stray mare pony found wandering on Brick Church Pike last week is recovering at a horse sanctuary as animal control officials search for her owner.
A Goodlettsville landowner called Metro Animal Care and Control July 9 after finding the 20-year-old flaxen chestnut pony running on their property. MACC eventually took the pony, who was severely thin, to Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary, which operates more than two dozen foster farms in Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
The pony has a difficult and lengthy recovery ahead, officials say.
