Hunter's Lane Freshman Arrested With Loaded Gun
Police say a 15-year-old Hunter's Lane freshman was carrying a loaded 9-mm semi-automatic handgun on campus Wednesday.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Hunter's Lane High School freshman was carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun in class Wednesday, according to Metro Police.
Alerted by a student, police and school officials went to the unnamed student's classroom and saw him with his right hand inside the pocket of his hoodie. The student refused numerous commands to take his hand from the pocket, according to police. Officer James Boone then grabbed the students hand and was able to secure the 9-mm pistol.

Investigators say the gun had one round in the chamber and five in the magazine. The student told police he found the gun and was carrying it for protection. He was taken to juvenile detention and charged with carrying a gun on campus.
