Nashville 2nd-Grader Brings BB Gun To School

A second-grader at Ruby Major Elementary in Hermitage brought a BB gun to school, MNPS and police officials say.

HERMITAGE, TN -- A Hermitage second-grader brought a BB gun to school, Metro Schools and Metro Police confirmed Tuesday.

The 7-year-old student at Ruby Major Elementary School on John Hagar Road near the Wilson County line did not make any threats, schools officials said, and no longer has the weapon.

Metro Police are working with administrators following the incident.

An official with Metro Nashville Public Schools said the second-grader no longer has possession of the weapon and no threat was made against the school.
