Nashville Charter School Teacher Arrested For Domestic Assault

A 26-year-old teacher at LEAD Neely's Bend was arrested for domestic assault in Lebanon Sunday.

LEBANON, TN — A Nashville charter school teacher is facing domestic assault charges in Wilson County.

James Carney, 26, who teaches at LEAD Neely's Bend in Madison, was booked into the Wilson County Jail early Sunday morning after an arrest for domestic assault by Lebanon Police. LEAD Neely's Bend was a standard public school until the end of the last school year and will open as a fifth- through eighth-grade charter when school starts next week.

WKRN said LEAD officials declined comment on Carney's arrest. Carney was arrested in March 2016 for failure to appear, also in Wilson County.
