Beloved Hillsboro Village Bookstore to Close
BookmanBookwoman, a Village mainstay for two decades, will shutter by the end of the year.
NASHVILLE, TN — BookmanBookwoman, the beloved bookstore that's been an anchor of Hillsboro Village for two decades, will close at the end of the year.
Founded in 1995 by husband-and-wife team of Larry and Saralee Terry Woods, the store sells a mix of new and used books and provided free books for children. It began as a way to sell Larry's 40,000-volume book collection, but now the store has more than 100,000 books.
Saralee Woods told NewsChannel 5 that it's time for she and her husband to, forgive the pun, start a new chapter.

"I would like to spend more time with my family," Saralee told the station. "I missed a lot by owning and running a small business, so it's time for me to do something else."
The store will be a holding a big sale before the holidays with all used books half off the current price and new books 20 percent off the cover price.
