As Crime Spikes, Green Hills Meets

A recent uptick in crime in Green Hills prompted a Wednesday night meeting at Hillsboro High School.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Officers from the Midtown and West precincts met with concerned Green Hills residents after a recent rash of robberies, carjackings and shootings in the usually quiet and safe area of Davidson County.

Police tied the surge in crime in the area to an overall uptick in similar crimes throughout Metro, according to WKRN.

Officers did say since MNPD Chief Steve Anderson created a task force addressing teen crime, the department has made progress.

“We immediately started coming into contact with individuals we had on a list, people we were expecting to be involved with these robberies,” police said, according to the station. “After speaking with them, it quickly became apparent, not only had they taken part in robberies, but some of the other individuals we were looking for, or had on the watch list, they knew of them as well, and admitted to being associated with those individuals.”
