Ex-Yale Hoops Captain Enrolls At Belmont After Expulsion

Former Yale basketball captain Brentwood's Jack Montague, expelled from the Ivy League school for sexual misconduct, is enrolled at Belmont.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The former Yale University basketball captain and Brentwood High School standout expelled from the Ivy League school in 2016 for sexual misconduct is now a Belmont University student.

Jack Montague is suing Yale, in part because he alleged the school refused to release his transcript because of a disputed $3,000 outstanding balance. He alleges Yale officials were doing so vindictively. In any event, Yale granted a waiver and released the paperwork, but Montague is still seeking reinstatement to the New Haven, Conn. school plus monetary damages.

Yale officials say that Montague's accuser made it clear that she did not want to have intercourse with Montague in 2014, while he says that she was coerced into making a complaint by over-zealous Title IX administrators and that if she did tell him she wanted to end the encounter, he did not hear her.

Montague exhausted his basketball eligibility at Yale. Because some of his credits did not transfer, he will require two semesters to graduate from Belmont.
