BELLE MEADE, TN -- Belle Meade Police believe they've identified the so-called Gentleman Bandit.
The well-dressed man spotted breaking into cars wearing a shirt and tie and distinctive blue shoes is 32-year-old Maurice Johns, investigators say.
Surveillance footage captured a man, believed to be Johns, rifling through an unlocked car on Harding Place. He matched the description of a man connected to a group of solicitors that have been combing the area for a Dickson-based magazine sales company, which told police that it vets its employees.
