Hillsboro Student Named National Merit Semifinalist
Hillsboro's Joseph Henry is one of 15 Metro Schools students to earn the prestigious honor.

GREEN HILLS, TN — Hillsboro High School student Joseph Henry has been named a National Merit Semifinalist.
All told, there were 15 Metro Schools students who qualified as semifinalists. Semifinalists are determined based on the score on the PSAT, which is typically taken during the sophomore or junior year. Of the 1.5 million who entered the program, 16,000 were named as semifinalists. Finalists are determined based on the student's broader academic record, school involvement, leadership activity and other honors. Finalists are announced in February.
