I-440 Rollover Kills 1
A 31-year-old Germantown man was killed late Thursday in a rollover crash on I-440 near Melrose.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A rollover crash on Interstate 440 killed a 31-year-old Shelby County man Thursday night.
According to Metro Police, a 2012 Nissan Altima was driving “in an erratic manner” west on 440 near the Interstate 65 interchange in Melrose around 11 p.m. when it crossed the median, flipped and hit a guardrail on the eastbound side of the road.

The driver, Chester Linebarier III of Germantown, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both sides of 440 were closed through the wee hours of Friday.

Police believe excessive speed was a factor. A toxicology screen for drugs and alcohol will be conducted.
