Nashville School Bus Driver on Administrative Leave During Pokemon Go Investigation
Bus-riding students say the driver took detours to play the popular augmented reality game.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Metro school-bus driver was not behind the wheel on her usual route Thursday after being put on administrative leave as MNPS officials determine if she was playing a popular cell phone game while driving.
Cell-phone video shot by students at H.G. Hill Middle School made the rounds on-line earlier this week. It shows the driver stopped short of a bridge too low for a bus, while students can be heard discussing Pokemon Go. Students told their parents the driver frequently played the popular game while driving and even took detours in her effort to catch 'em all.
MNPS spokesperson Joe Bass told WTVF there is no evidence on the 90 minutes of cell-phone video that the driver was playing the game that day, but a review of GPS data and other video is underway.

The video does show the driver allowing a concerned parent to board the bus to retrieve a student, which, Bass told the TV station, is a violation of procedure.
If the driver is re-instated, she will be assigned to a different route.
