Republican State Sen. Steve Dickerson Doesn't 'See A Path' to Voting for Donald Trump
The Nashville Republican won't vote for Hillary Clinton and can't see a way he'll vote for Trump.

NASHVILLE, TN — State Sen. Steve Dickerson, a Nashville Republican, told the Nashville Scene that he doesn't "see a path" to voting for Donald Trump in the wake of the release of the tapes of a 2005 conversation that suggested the GOP candidate for president grabs women by the genitals.
Dickerson, largely considered a moderate, had never endorsed Trump, heretofore only saying he would not vote for Hillary Clinton. Over the weekend, he posted on Facebook that Trump's words were "unacceptable" and that the sentiment is "wrong and disgusting."
"My record is clear when it comes to supporting women and valuing decency and is in clear opposition to the type of language and behavior revealed today," Dickerson wrote.

In an interview with the Scene Sunday, Dickerson went farther, saying he did not know how Donald Trump could earn his support.
“I’m not going to vote for Hillary Clinton and at this point I do not see a path forward to vote for Donald Trump,” he said.

Dickerson will face Democrat Erin Coleman in the November election for his District 20 Senate seat, essentially the only competitive legislative race in Tennessee.
