State Suspends Admissions To Green Hills Nursing Home

After complaints and an inspection, the Department of Health is barring new admissions to Green Hills Health and Rehabilitation.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The state has halted new admissions to a Green Hills nursing home following complaints and a failed inspection.

The Tennessee Department of Health announced Tuesday that the 150-bed Green Hills Heath and Rehabilitation at 3939 Hillsboro Circle is suspended from new admissions and must pay a $5,000 fine based on conditions found during a complaint survey conducted in late October.

"During the inspection, surveyors found violations of the following standards: performance improvement, physician services and records and reports," the health department said in a release.

The Commissioner of Health may suspend admissions to a nursing home when conditions are determined to be, or are likely to be, detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of the residents. The order remains in effect until the shortcomings are rectified and the facility demonstrates the violations are unlikely to be repeated.
