Stolen Cell Phone Breaks Belle Meade Car Burglary Caper
Police say a man behind a series of Belle Meade car break-ins sold a stolen phone, giving up his identity.

BELLE MEADE, TN -- Belle Meade and Metro Police caught a break when an alleged auto burglar swapped a stolen cell phone at a self-serve kiosk.
On Dec. 2, a number of cars were broken into in Belle Meade. Inside one of the cars was a child's iPhone 7, essentially the only thing of value taken during the spree.
On Monday, investigators discovered that phone was turned into a kiosk that offers cash for used cell phones at a North Nashville grocery store. Those kiosks, however, require a valid driver's license and snap a photo of the person depositing the phone.

Police now suspect Javonte Willis, who is also wanted for using a skateboard to break-in to an Inglewood church in October, in the auto burglaries. He remains at large.
