Volunteer State Community College held an event recently to officially recognize the naming of the Dr. Warren and Chris Nichols Softball Complex in Gallatin. Warren Nichols was the second president of Vol State, serving from 2003 until 2011. Among Nichols accomplishments as president, he was instrumental in working to get the facility upgraded, including a new press box, bathrooms, and other facilities. The Nichols’ are dedicated Vol State softball fans. The ceremony has been in the works for some time. It was postponed on a number of occasions due to weather and COVID-19 precautions.
