Alleged Midstate Porch Pirates Arrested

A trio suspected in numerous incidents of porch package piracy across Middle Tennessee were arrested this week.

LA VERGNE, TN -- A trio suspected of stealing packages from numerous porches in Rutherford and Wilson counties were arrested this week.

Police said an alert La Vergne citizen saw two people grab a package off a neighbor's porch. Police said they found the suspect car at a nearby boat ramp, where two people ran into some woods.

Investigators said inside the car they found numerous packages, some stealing bearing the names of the victims on the address label. Officers located the pair who fled into the roads and arrested then. A subsequent search of a Murfreesboro home resulted in the discovery of numerous other packages which had been reported stolen since the beginning of December in La Vergne, Murfreesboro and Mt.
