Barricaded Woman Prompts 3-Hour Standoff In La Vergne

A woman surrendered to La Vergne Police after barricading herself inside a home with a gun Saturday.

LA VERGNE, TN -- A La Vergne woman surrendered following a three-hour stand-off Saturday during which she was barricaded inside her home.

Police were called to a Hollandale Road home around 5 p.m. after the woman allegedly threatened to shoot her husband. The husband escaped, but by the time police arrived, the woman had barricaded herself in the house.

The department's SWAT team responded and while neighbors were asked to stay inside, there were no evacuations.

The woman eventually walked out and into police custody around 8:20 p.m.
