Bomb Threat To Smyrna High School, Justice Center 'Not Credible'
Smyrna High School went on a brief lockdown Tuesday after a bomb threat was called in.

SMYRNA, TN — A bomb threat briefly put Smyrna High School into a lockdown Tuesday morning. The phoned-in warning was later determined to be "not credible," according to Rutherford County Schools.
The threat, which was also made against the Town of Smyrna's Justice Center, was called into Metro Nashville dispatch Tuesday morning.

The investigation required SHS to go into its "Code Yellow" lockdown, as is standard procedure during a threat. Normal operations resumed by 8:30.
"We want to inform you that the school was placed on a brief, precautionary Code Yellow lockdown this morning after law enforcement and emergency personnel investigated a tip they had received," Rutherford County Schools spokesman James Evans emailed parents. "The tip proved to be not credible and the school has returned to normal operation. All students are safe and returning to their normal class schedules. The Code Yellow was only called as a precaution, which is standard procedure in these situations."
