Goodlettsville AMBER Alert Suspect Arrested After Chase

SMYRNA, TN -- La Vergne Police arrested a man wanted in connection with a Sunday AMBER Alert in Goodlettsville and a high-speed chase in Wilson County.

Keith Tansil, 32, is accused of taking three boys, all under the age of four, from a Goodlettsville home Sunday, prompting an AMBER Alert. The boys were found safe about 40 minutes after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the alert.

Tansil was reportedly spotted by U.S. Marshals in Davidson County Tuesday, leading to a high-speed chase that eventually crossed into Rutherford County, where La Vergne Police picked up the pursuit. Eventually, Tansil drove into Smyrna, according to police. He was arrested on South Lowry Street after being boxed in by officers.

Tansil was also reportedly involved in a high-speed chase in Wilson County Monday.

According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle, which had been parked with its lights on and engine running in a neighborhood. The sheriff's office said when an officer approached the car, the driver - believed to be Tansil - was slumped in the seat and revving the engine.

Tansil allegedly rammed a Lebanon Police car twice as he drove from the scene, leading to a chase on Interstate 40 that, at one point, reached speeds of up to 107 miles per hour.

In addition to charges connected to the AMBER Alert, Tansil will face charges of evading arrest, reckless endangerment, bond jumping and driving on a revoked license in Wilson County.
