July 4 In La Vergne: Fireworks, Live Music, Weather And More

La Vergne's annual Independence Day celebration will include live music

LA VERGNE, TN — The City of La Vergne has set the stage for its annual Independence Day celebration.

As is tradition, the La Vergne Independence Day celebration will be at Veterans Memorial Park at 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive, with gates to the free event opening at 5:30. Live music from Missy Garnet and the Two Dollar Pistols starts at 6:30 pm. Vendors will be on hand selling concessions, but families may pack in their own picnic dinners along with their blankets and lawn chairs.
Families are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs, as well as their own picnic dinners. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the park. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

La Vergne residents who will be shooting off their own fireworks are asked to be mindful of city law, which allows the launching of fireworks between June 21 and July 7 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. On July 4 itself, fireworks are permitted from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Weather-wise, there's a 60 percent chance of showers and storms Tuesday, mainly before 1 p.m., with a high of 85. A 30 percent chance of storms persists into the evening with a low of 70, according to the National Weather Service Office in Nashville.
