Teen Leads Police On Two-County Chase, Crashes Into Mailbox
A 16-year-old driving his aunt's car led police on a chase from La Vergne into Nashville and then crashed into an Antioch mailbox.

LA VERGNE, TN -- A teenager led police on a county-line-crossing chase early Monday from La Vergne into Antioch.
La Vergne Police said an officer tried to pull over a car on Sue Ellen Drive after seeing it had no working brake lights. The officers followed the driver and reported the car was making multiple turns and accelerating in an apparent attempt to get away.
Police made an attempt to use a spike strip in La Vergne, but did not get it deployed in time, and the car continued across the Rutherford-Davidson county line and turned into the Hickory Woods neighborhood, hitting a mailbox on Sunnyvale Drive after taking a turn too wide.

The 16-year-old from Nashville was evaluated at the hospital and released before being taken to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center.
The teenager reportedly told officers he did not stop because he didn’t have a license and because he'd apparently been told by the La Vergne High School SRO not to return to campus and the teenager took it mean he was banned from the City of La Vergne.
