Here's a roundup of what's open and what's closed on Labor Day in La Vergne & Smyrna.

SMYRNA, TN — In America, Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, even though the kids have been in school a few weeks, it may still be 90 degrees some days and scientists insist summer doesn't end until later in September.

This year, Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 4. Being a federal holiday, it means a day off work and school and government offices and banks are closed.
