Are you interested in keeping La Vergne’s waterways healthy? A new city program aims at doing just that and hopes to find volunteers to help clear the waterways.

The La Vergne X-Stream Squad, a new volunteer group, will meet on the second Saturday of each month from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The small volunteer group will help clean litter out of La Vergne waterways. The city will provide snacks, water and safety gear for volunteers, who are only asked to wear a pair of muck-boots or waders when they arrive.

“I’m really excited about the new initiative,” says Stormwater Coordinator Alex Thompson. “Our waterways are very important to our ecosystem and our way of life so we need to do our best to keep them clean and safe.”
