Smyrna Independence Day: Fireworks, Road Closures, Forecast And More
The Town of Smyrna will host its annual fireworks display July 3, requiring some road closures near the Recreation Park.
SMYRNA, TN — The Town of Smyrna's fireworks display will be July 3 at the Recreation Park
Festivities began at 5 p.m. at the Rec Park at 110 Sam Ridley Parkway. There will be inflatables and train rides from the C&R Railroad. Concessions will be available and there will be live music from 2nd & Vine. The fireworks begin at 9 p.m., with the following roads near the park closed from 8:45 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. to comply with the National Fire Protection Agency’s required minimum distance standards:

- Sam Ridley at Fitzhugh Boulevard
- Sam Ridley at Nolan Drive
- Sam Ridley at Threet Industrial Road
- Sam Ridley west of Nolan Drive
In addition, personal fireworks are only permitted inside the Smyrna town limits at the following times:
- July 3: 9:00am until 10:00pm
- July 4: 9:00am until 1:00am on July 5
- July 5: 9:00am until 10:00pm
Weather-wise, Monday will have a high of 88 and low of 70 with a 30 percent chance of daytime showers and storms and a 50 percent chance after dark, according to the National Weather Service office in Nashville.
