Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center Grand Opening Thursday

Check out the new Outdoor Adventure Center for free at its Thursday ribbon-cutting.

SMYRNA, TN — Smyrna's long-awaited Outdoor Adventure Center will open officially Thursday with free admission during the formal ribbon-cutting.

On Thursday, May 4, the OAC will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will pay normal prices — $5 for kids under 12 and seniors, $7 for adults, with lower prices for those who aren't climbing — during this time. The official ribbon cutting — with free admission — will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

The OAC includes a lecture hall, exhibit space, gallery, gift shop and both adult and kids adventure zones.

The adult zone features 10 automatic belay systems with climbing walls ranging from easy to advanced. The kids zone features a cargo net, a "playground in the sky" and a "great big slide."

The OACwill also offer summer camps and a variety of community activities.
