Tennessee College of Applied Technology Holds First Smyrna Class
TCAT's Smyrna campus will open full-time January 4.

SMYRNA, TN — The new Tennessee Center for Applied Technology campus in Smyrna held its first class Friday, more than two months before it officially opens full time.
The debut class focused on robot safety, part of the industrial electrical maintenance curriculum that will be offered at the training facility. It included hands-on training with robotic equipment donated to the school.
When the campus — a $30 million facility on Ken Pilkerton Drive — begins accepting full-time students January 4, it will offer programs in automotive technology, machine tool technology, industrial electrical maintenance, and welding. TCAT will add collision repair and tool and die programs in the future.
