The Top Misspelled Word In Tennessee Is...
Tennesseans may miss erstwhile Opryland roller coaster Chaos, but they have a hard time spelling it, according to Google.

"Chaos" came to English via French and Latin, though initially the word "khaos" was born in the Peloponnese. But to Tennesseans, it's all Greek to us, apparently.
In honor of the National Spelling Bee starting this week, Google compiled a list of the most misspelled word in each state and somehow a state that includes Athens, Sparta, Troy, Antioch, Corinth and the Athens of the South can't spell a Greek word, even one that gave its name to a beloved thrill ride at the gone but not forgotten Opryland USA theme park. Tennessee was the only state where "chaos" topped the chart. Our neighbors in Georgia struggled with "gray" and Kentucky has problems with "beautiful." "Angel" is a tough one for North Carolinians to figure out and "nanny" is a problem in Mississippi. Missourians are (apparently) always saying "Show me how to spell 'maintenance," and in Arkansas it's "chihuahua." Alabama has the same Greek trouble as Tennessee, stumbling through "pneumonia."
